What else do I need to know about life coaching?

Some questions come up frequently and we have constructed this page to try and answer the more common ones. Please take a few moments to read through. If you have any questions that are not shown here, please don't hesitate to give us a call.

Do you offer coaching services by email?

We know that some coaches offer this kind of service routinely but, as a general rule of thumb, we do not offer coaching services by email. Our view is that life coaching is a real time, interactive process, and email does little to enhance or facilitate this. Added to this are the inherent insecurities of email, which could compromise confidentiality. Under some circumstances, we may consider email as a viable route to coaching, but you will need to convince us that this is the best or only alternative for you. Where we do accept email coaching as an option, our correspondence to you will be encrypted and will require a password.

How long and how frequent are the sessions?

Each session will last for up to one hour, and there will typically be around twelve sessions (usually held weekly) in a series. Periodically, however, we will review your progress together. Unless there are overwhelming reasons to continue, we will normally close a series of sessions after the twelfth week. If you or we feel that life coaching is not bringing the benefits that it should, we will terminate the series.

Do I get to meet my coach in person?

A distinct advantage of life coaching is that your location is not an issue. Sessions are normally held by pre-arranged telephone call, and it is rare to meet your coach face to face. It makes no difference to the process whether you are based locally, nationally or internationally. Only in exceptional circumstances will you meet your coach in person.

What sort of commitment do I need to make?

It will be of no benefit to you if you approach the process half-heartedly. Indeed, before we accept you for coaching you will be asked to sign an agreement. You should read the agreement carefully and seriously before signing. Click here to preview the agreement.

What kinds of issue will we discuss?

Apart from ensuring that we review the issues raised in the previous session, you will be the one who sets the agenda for our discussions. You will be encouraged to discuss all issues relating to your agenda.

How quickly will I see results?

This will vary hugely depending on the nature of your objectives and on your own levels of commitment. Normally, however, most people will begin to see changes / improvements to their lives within a few days of starting the process, and certainly within a few weeks. It should be remembered, however, that life coaching works in subtle as well as obvious ways, which is why we generally advocate a series of twelve weeks.

What if something comes up and I can't make a session?

At the end of each session we will negotiate a time for the next discussion. We expect you to do all you can to meet your commitments. Of course, however, we are aware that events and situations arise that necessitate re-scheduling. To avoid the possibility of penalty, you must attempt to make us aware that you will not be able to complete the session 24 hours in advance.

How much does life coaching cost?

After your initial consultation, which is free, we operate a sliding scale of charges, as follows:

  • Session 1: £180.00
  • Session 2: £160.00
  • Session 3: £140.00
  • Session 4: £120.00
  • Session 5: £100.00
  • Session 6-12: £70.00

A 'standard' series of twelve sessions, therefore, would total £1200.00.  We will ask you to pay for four sessions in advance. The front loading of fees is intentional and is designed to ensure commitment to the process as a whole.

I think that I will benefit more from an intense, one-to-one session. Is this an option?

Yes, providing the situation justifies it. Andrew will also combine coaching with personality profiling, in-depth feedback and extended discussion sessions. Daily fees are typically in the region of £800.00 + VAT. Please call for a more detailed discussion.

What if I want more than one session per week?

For most people, one telephone life coaching session per week will be sufficient, and we will not encourage you to seek more than this. For some people, however, it can be extremely valuable to be able to contact the coach outside the scheduled sessions. If you feel that this will bring true benefits for you, we will be happy to discuss the implications with you. Once you are on our books, we will always return your call at the earliest available opportunity.

Something needs to change in my life. I want to set / pursue a new horizon. What do I do now?

It's very simple, but you do need to get the ball rolling QUICKLY. Don't lose the impetus that has already started within you! If you are going to make something happen, START RIGHT NOW! Ideally, gve us a call, and DO NOT be put off if you get an answer machine (don't forget, we're often tied up on other lines). Leave a message, with your name and number. You can send us an email, write us a letter, or drop us a fax. You can send a donkey or a carrier pigeon if you prefer. We simply need a number so that we can contact you to arrange an initial discussion. No obligation and no commitment. We will be absolutely delighted to hear from you.
