Our Approach

Our approach begins with an absolute commitment to helping you in the achievement of your goals. From the moment you first contact us, we know that you have the capability to reach your horizons. By the time we take your first call or receive your first message, we already know that you have the capacity to succeed. At that stage, we know that you have taken the first step on your journey; a step that is often one of the hardest to take.

Before we accept you for coaching, we will ask you to sign an agreement. The agreement asks you to give yourself fully to the process, since it is only by doing so that you will get from life coaching what you want. The contract also has a section that is signed by us, confirming our commitment to you. You can preview the contract by clicking here.

Life Coaching implies a personal, honest, sensitive and understanding relationship between you and your coach. Our intention is always to listen carefully to you, and to fully appreciate your goals and objectives. We will take note of your feelings about things, your present circumstances and personal history, your worries, fears and concerns. At the same time, we will challenge and question you, support and encourage you, and have an expectation that you will place demands upon yourself.

Our approach to life coaching revolves around achieving tangible results for you.

What's the Process?

New Horizon offers coaching services by pre-arranged telephone call, with email support where required. This comes as something of a surprise to many people, who seem to think that the coaching process is like therapy or counselling, where face-to-face contact is seen as a requirement. In fact, with coaching, physical proximity can actually be distracting, taking time away from focusing on real issues. It will not take long for you to feel comfortable with telephone coaching, and to realise the distinct advantages offered by this mode of communication. We sometimes include psychometric assessment (in particular personality profiling), where we believe that it will be of benefit. This is especially true where clients have work-related issues.

Who is coaching for?

Coaching is ideally suited to those individuals who are emotionally mature and well- adjusted, and who are keen to see improvements in one or more aspects of their lives. Those who benefit most tend to fall in the age range 25-55, although this will depend heavily on such things as the individual's level of ambition and their chosen field. If we believe, for whatever reason, that coaching will not bring you the benefits we normally expect, we will tell you following your introductory session.
